West Bengal

It is a state in eastern India. with Bangladesh, which lies on its eastern border, the state forms the ethno-linguistic region of Bengal.To its northeast lie the states of Assam and Sikkim and the country Bhutan, and the south west, the state of Orissa. Th the west is borders of stat of Jharkhand and Bhiar and to the northwest, Nepal.

The proponents of bengalees had largely contributed in crubing the culture of West bengal in the mold of Western thoughts. However the tradition and ethnicity were not uprooted, rather they were enmeshed with the new trends. In the era of British imperialists, industrial development was opulent. Already being an agrarian society the region is prominent for its productive affluency. the Gangetic plains, the dense forest of Sundarbans shapes the demography of the region into a unique conglomeration. Bengali culture had established itself as the world’s greatest culture. Bengalis have a high regard for scholarship and learning. Calcutta University, with 200,000 students, is the world’s largest degree factory and an explosive center of learning. It is from the countryside of eastern India that Bengali culture draws its inspiration.
